Solving the Connection Problem in Board Gaming
Situation: Board Gaming industry had needs from gamers finding and meeting others that enjoy playing similar games with 73% of gamers in 1,063 person poll saying they had trouble finding like-minded gamers
Initiative: I developed a solution that matched like-minded board gamers to other local gamers using a simple algorithm within a 20 mile radius utilizing. Working with developers, I developed an app, approved and published both within the App store and Google Play Store that included my own work within in Figma. Within the application, it logarithmically matched board gamers, based on liked, ordered, and ranked board games within platform, with other board gamers within a 20 mile radius. As part of this marketing strategy, Tokyn collaborated with some of the top board game influencers with a low-cost model by selling in the vision. I conducted Digital PR and was published on boardgamegeek.com for an editorial. Through organic efforts, we had over 15000 users visit our website in the first 60 days post launch.
Result: Within 2 months of launch, our app had over 2300 downloads and 1300 MAU with a 4.7 app rating and within the first 60 days, there were 350+ board game meetups
